Against All Odds - The Story of Judith Halim.
Born to a poor dysfunctional family in Indonesia, she married at the young age to a businessman from Singapore. Her daughter, Joel was born with heart and brain abnormalities. Almost immediately, her first husband left her for another woman. Alone in Singapore without any resources, handicapped by language and a lack if credentials, she contemplated suicide. Even when she found work as a security guard, she could only afford one meal a day and could not pay for her daughter's surgery. In the darkest moments, she found hope.
Come and hear how God restored her life against all odds.
In her testimony, she shared "But our GOD is a promise fulfilling GOD and HE is always faithful, HE gave me a verse in Joel 2:25-27 : HE said so I will restore you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you. You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied and praise the name of the Lord your GOD, who has dealt wondrously with you, and My people shall never be put to shame. Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel; I am the Lord your GOD and there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame."
If Tomorrow Never Comes - The Story Of Jason Ong
Six months. That was all the time Jason Ong was told he had when he was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer. Determined to make the most of his remaining days, he strived to be a good husband and father, and even set up a company to feed the poor and underprivileged. Just before he thought his time was up, a miracle happened. And today Jason lives to tell his story.
An excerpt of his testimony..."One of the verses applied daily in my endeavors as a stepfather to Joel is Psalm 82:3 — 'Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.' I continue to live by this verse — not only to Joel — but even more so to less fortunate children. Over the last 10 years, through feeding and community development projects in China, Pakistan, Myanmar, Malaysia, Davao, Manila, Kalimantan, and Jakarta, we have been helping the fatherless, orphans, widows, poor, as well as homeless. I may not have children of my own, but I am a father to many children whom I've interacted with during mission trips and community projects.
